Welcome to Skydive Interlaken's FAQ page! We're here to ensure you have all the information you need for an unforgettable skydiving experience in the stunning Swiss Alps. Please read through our frequently asked questions to prepare for your adventure.

What are the physical requirements for skydiving?

To ensure a safe skydiving experience, participants must be in good physical condition. Skydive Interlaken adheres to specific safety limits:

  • Women: Maximum weight of 90.0 kg (198 lbs) and a BMI of 27.5 or less.
  • Men: Maximum weight of 100.0 kg (220 lbs) and a BMI of 30.0 or less.
  • Height: Maximum of 195 cm (76 inches). Please note, Skydive Interlaken reserves the right to deny jump participation if there are any safety concerns.

What is the minimum age to skydive?

The minimum age for skydiving is 12 years. Participants under 18 must have parental consent. It's crucial that your body fits the harness properly and you are in good health.

What should I wear for skydiving?

Wear comfortable clothes like sneakers, a t-shirt, and jeans or shorts in the summer. For winter jumps, bring a windstopper and gloves. We provide a jumpsuit, goggles, gloves, and, if desired, a hat.

Do you offer pickup services?

Yes, we provide free pickup from your hotel or the Interlaken train station, exclusively within Interlaken.

How long does the entire skydiving experience take?

Expect the experience to last 2-3 hours, though this can vary due to weather conditions and the order of jumps.

Can I have my skydive filmed?

Absolutely! We offer picture and video options, listed under prices/options on our website. No pre-booking is required; we'll discuss this when we meet.

Is it possible to breathe or talk during freefall?

Yes, breathing is natural, and while you can try to talk, the high wind speeds during freefall make it difficult to hear anything.

What happens if the parachute doesn't open?

For your safety, there's a backup chute equipped with an Automatic Activation Device. This device ensures the reserve parachute opens, even if the tandem master cannot.

How long will I be in freefall, and how about the parachute ride?

The freefall lasts approximately 45 seconds, influenced by body size. The slower for smaller individuals, the faster for larger. The parachute ride down is a gentle 5 to 8 minutes, offering breathtaking views before landing as briefed.

Are your instructors certified?

All our tandem masters are licensed, highly professional, and come with years of experience to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

What happens if bad weather prevents our jump?

We monitor the weather closely. If bad weather means we can't jump, we'll discuss your options, including a full deposit refund.
